You Are Invited to Attend Public Tours of the Spring Grove Construction Site!
These special tours are hosted and organized by Group 5 and are open to all members of the public. Public tours of the Spring Grove Dam construction site take place on Wednesdays at 09:45 for 10:00, by prior arrangement. If you are interested in attending, please contact Lanie Fowles on 033 2677081 or to book.
Bookings are on a first come, first served basis as approximately 10 people can be accommodated on each tour. The tours begin with a briefing in the Board Room at the Spring Grove Dam Construction Site Offices, Rosetta, located on the D146. This initial introduction covers the plan of construction of the dam illustrated by maps and diagrams. Safety is discussed and each person is issued a hard hat and luminous jacket. Those participating in the tour should wear suitable boots or shoes. Cameras are allowed. The tour continues by minibus visiting various relevant sites of the dam construction. The first image on this page is tour members watching workmen placing charges prior to blasting in preparation for the dam wall construction. Tours last approximately one hour.
